This is probably the most important part you have to consider - your application will be disqualified if any of the following applies to you.

Minimum age: If you are under the age of 18 do not apply for this award as your application will not be accepted.

Password protection: We will not review your site if all (or most) of it is password protected.

Child safe: We will only review child-safe sites - Your site will be disqualifed if it is not child-safe!

Hacker/Warez sites: These sites are illegal - if you insist on filling out an application and this is what your site is about, you are wasting your time.

Illegal or unlawful: We will not look at sites that contain hate or racism messages - regardless of context.

Fan sites: We do not review fan sites (official or unofficial).

Award programs: We no longer evaluate award program sites. If a site gives out awards, the main theme/content of the site MUST be something other than the award component!

Non-domain sites: Sites lacking domain level names (e.g. www.games.com) will probably be disqualified unless they are of a very high standard (high silver or gold level).

Computer crashes: Sites that cause the judges computer to crash will be automatically disqualified.

Forums or discussion boards: We do not review forums or discussion boards - content changes too frequently and is too variable.

Too many pop-ups/unders: Sites with too many pop-ups/unders will be disqualified.

Copyright infringements: As mentioned previously, don't steal the contents of other sites. You must acknowledge the source of material you use on your site. If you do not do this, your application will be disqualified.

Winners

We will check winning sites intermittently to make sure they still contain the same content that was used to win the award. We reserve the right to remove a winning site from our winners page if the link no longer works, if any of the above criteria are breached or if the award graphic has been altered without prior permission.

Ethical standards

We use a systematic approach when evaluating sites, allowing us to rate them both consistently and fairly. We adhere to strict guidelines during the assessment process, minimising any errors in the final score allocated to each applicant.

All ratings are given in an unbiased manner and will NOT be influenced by comments or requests from applicants.

Judges

Currently there is only one judge (the webmaster), with a very strong academic background.
